sheffield cycle friendly! what a joke

fishing meeting last night,so attercliffe to burncross(grenoside) wasnt going to take long,so i opted for the long route and to take the ice on a few tracks.following sign clearly marked as cycle route they are full of stupid fearn access barriers not trike friendly at all.i kept having to lift trike over horse gates as it wont fit through half of them so by the end of my ride i was well pissed off,if this is the sign of things to come it looks like jogle will be on roads only as i cant see me stripping all camping gear off at every barrier,

what has happened to all the old mates from the ctc hard rider days,or even easy rider days,alan kirk iv found out is more into trains these days.ken i still get my yearly news letter from,apart from pat wilson all the other names from sheffield seem to be alien to me,i know richard miall has gone(R.I.P)and shiela simpson is over donny,these last 12 months of training bring back many memories of face and rides long gone.where have all the years and friends gone,is work work work realy worth all the effort,or should i have oppted for the simple life and not joined the rat race

summer has been n gone

cheers caroline at least im not chatting to my self,although i do know people read my waffle but just dont own up to it.out on the roads last night felt like flaming winter,wind rain and when wet bloody cold,lucky i had a change of waterproofs that were a little warmer,looks like the shorts are going away soon n back to leggings yuk.although looking at the sky a presant ill hope for an india summer(or should that be i wish)

cornwall in august,lovely time of year if ur a duck,malc broke his anckle two days prior to going so that left me and julie,we took bikes thinking we would get a few miles in but julie is a fine weather cyclist(very fine weather)so we managed about 10 miles on the monday,tues rain set in so of to ice recumbents to have a look round their show room which turned out to be a tent in the corner of the workshop,chris the owner was very obliging showing me their different trike and then proceeded to get them out for me to ride round the carpark.after trying every model trike they had in there,after which he offered the loan of two trikes for the weekend one with electric motor for julie,so saturday morning saw us heading up the devron trail truro to portreath and back the 2nd good day.the performance of the ice adventurer 2 was brilliant so much so that monday morning a nice shiney red one built to my spec was ordered and collected monday afternoon,well impressed with the team at ice.
